Robert was born in 1985 and has not stopped breathing since. From a very early age (around the baby-porridge era before the wax crayon period) Robert has been interested in biographical material and has used it extensively in his practise. Since leaving Art College in 2008, Robert has embarked on an artistic quest. His work has been a galaxy of misconceptions made microcosmically manifest through the genius of art.
He sets out to provide a view of our own world made into others, unblinkingly etching out a labyrinthine, dystopic Edinburgh that is also the world that is also the art world that is also himself; a gallery of art rogues and a scopophiliac critic-detective
; Renaissance magic run through MS-DOS; silent operatic films; Ossaniac myths through Macphersonic authenticity, blending fiction and believable fantasy.
Robert has attempted to give birth, into galleries, a
vast visual encyclopaedia of symbols, allegory, humour and metaphysical musing in many media, including installation, painting, drawing, print, sculpture, video, text and jigsaw. The artist also enjoys making ludicrous claims of almost lewd grandiosity.
